(Depth of Determination)- Tailoring

Sribas Karmakar, an inspirational boy of our Centre for Special Education (CSE) who is differently abled but still has the zeal to succeed in life. He was registered with Bikash on 27.06.2012 and was found to have 50% cerebral palsy along with the problem of walking. He was so determined that despite of having the problems of disability he continued his study till Std- VIII but due to communication problems he had to leave his study.

A ‘spark’ within his inner self of doing something has always been his guiding light for which he has never stopped to go ahead and have a joyous life. A boy of the village Kenjakura of Bankura district has shown his interest in the skill training of tailoring, Jute diversified products, and in making handicrafts. At first, he could not even hold the scissors, had no idea of measurements but gradually beating all odds he learnt about the uses of equipments and procedures of making handicrafts.

His dedication in 4 years has helped him to become well equipped and efficient in making Shirts, Pyjamas, Petticoats, Salwar suits etc according to the measurements as he always had the interest in tailoring. He can also make finished jute products like Ladies Bag, Purse, wall hangings and can also make candles, Paper Packet, gifts bag.

However, the greatest achievement is that he is now a trainer of tailoring and his monthly salary is ₹ 3000/-. His effort is so honest that within a short span of time he has become skilled in various sectors. We wish him a best of luck and achieve success in his life.
